Ink Refill Bottles for Epson ET 2720 EcoTank

The Epson EcoTank ET-2720 is an entry-level inkjet printer designed for home and small office use, offering a cost-effective printing solution thanks to its EcoTank system. Instead of traditional ink cartridges, the ET-2720 uses large, refillable ink tanks, providing users with significant savings over time, especially for those who print frequently. It’s a compact, wireless printer that combines affordability with efficient performance, ideal for light to moderate print volume needs.

Here’s a detailed overview of the Epson EcoTank ET-2720:

Key Features of the Epson ET-2720:

1. EcoTank System (Refillable Ink Tanks):

• Refillable Ink Tanks: The ET-2720 uses the EcoTank T502 ink refill bottles for a large, refillable ink tank system instead of traditional ink cartridges. This helps lower the cost of printing in the long run, as users only need to refill the ink tanks when they run low, rather than purchasing costly cartridges.

• High-Yield Ink Bottles: The printer comes with a set of ink bottles for black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. These ink bottles contain a higher volume of ink compared to traditional cartridges and can print a much larger number of pages.

• Cost-Efficient: The Epson EcoTank system offers a much lower cost-per-page than conventional ink cartridge systems, making it ideal for users who need to print frequently.

2. Print Quality:

• Dye-Based Ink: The ET-2720 uses dye-based ink, which is ideal for vibrant, high-quality color printing. This makes it a good choice for printing photos, graphics, and color documents, although it is not as specialized as other EcoTank models designed for photo-centric printing.

• Resolution: The ET-2720 offers a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi, providing crisp text and good quality color output for photos and images.

3. Print Speed:

• The ET-2720 offers a print speed of up to 10 pages per minute (ppm) for black and white prints and around 5 ppm for color prints. While not the fastest printer in its class, its performance is solid for typical home or small office tasks.

• The printer also supports auto-duplex printing for two-sided printing, helping save paper, although this feature is available only for manual duplexing (the user must flip the page to print on the other side).

4. Connectivity Options:

• Wi-Fi Connectivity: The ET-2720 supports wireless printing, allowing you to connect it to your home or office Wi-Fi network. This makes it easy to print from various devices without needing to be physically connected to the printer.

• Mobile Printing: The printer supports Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and Epson Connect, allowing you to print directly from your mobile devices, tablets, or laptops, making it convenient for users on the go.

• USB Connectivity: It also comes with a USB 2.0 port for wired connections to a computer if preferred.

5. Compact & User-Friendly Design:

• Space-Saving Design: The ET-2720 is designed to be compact and lightweight, making it a good fit for small spaces such as home offices, apartments, or dorm rooms.

• Simple Interface: It features a straightforward control panel with a 1.44-inch LCD for basic printer status and settings. While it doesn’t have a full-color touchscreen, it’s still easy to navigate for everyday use.

• Easy Refills: The refillable ink tanks are transparent, so you can easily monitor ink levels, and refilling them is a simple and clean process.

6. Paper Handling:

• Paper Capacity: The ET-2720 has a 100-sheet paper tray for standard paper (A4/Letter size), and a rear feed for thicker media like photo paper or card stock.

• Supported Media Types: It supports various types of paper, such as plain paper, photo paper, and envelopes. It’s versatile for different print jobs, including documents, photos, and presentations.

7. Energy Efficiency:

• The EcoTank system is not only cost-effective but also energy-efficient. With the ET-2720, you’ll save energy over time, especially when compared to inkjet printers that use cartridges that need to be replaced more frequently.

Pros of the Epson ET-2720:

• Low operating costs due to the EcoTank refillable ink system, offering high page yields and a lower cost-per-page compared to traditional ink cartridges.

• High print quality for both text and color prints, making it suitable for documents, photos, and presentations.

• Wireless and mobile printing capabilities make it easy to print from smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

• Compact design, ideal for small spaces like home offices or apartments.

• Easy to refill ink tanks with spill-proof bottles, reducing the hassle of changing cartridges.

Cons of the Epson ET-2720:

• Print speed could be a bit slow for users who need to print large volumes quickly (though this is typical for an entry-level printer).

• No automatic duplex printing (double-sided printing) feature, which would have been useful for more efficient paper usage (though manual duplex printing is still possible).

• Basic control panel with a small LCD screen, lacking the more advanced touchscreens seen in higher-end models.

• Limited paper handling with a 100-sheet input tray, which might require frequent reloading if you're printing large batches of documents.

Summary:

The Epson EcoTank ET-2720 is an excellent choice for home users and small offices looking for an affordable and efficient printer with low running costs. The refillable ink tank system helps you save money on ink in the long run, and the Wi-Fi and mobile printing capabilities make it a versatile option for printing documents, photos, and everyday tasks. While it may not be the fastest or most feature-rich printer in its class, it offers exceptional value for those who print moderately and are looking for high-quality prints without the ongoing expense of ink cartridges.
